Returns and refunds
You have 14 days to change your mind, and separate rights if something is faulty. Here is exactly how both work, including who pays the postage.
Changed your mind
You can cancel your order for 14 days, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
The 14 days run from the day you physically receive the goods — not the day you ordered. If your order arrives in separate parcels, the clock starts with the last one.
How to cancel
- Tell us before the 14 days are up, by email to contact@cinefrance-boutique.fr or by phone on +44 7353 306761. A clear statement is enough; the form below is optional.
- We confirm within one working day and give you a returns reference.
- Send the goods back within 14 days of telling us, complete and well packed.
- We refund you within 14 days of getting them back.
Return postage is at your cost
If you are cancelling because you changed your mind, you pay to send the item back. We are telling you this before you buy, as the law requires — without that notice the cost would fall to us.
If the item is faulty, damaged in transit or not as described, we pay for the return in every case — that falls under the Consumer Rights Act, not under cancellation.
What condition it needs to be in
You are entitled to unpack and try the product, exactly as you would examine it in a shop. Plugging in a projector, checking the picture, testing a soundbar — all normal, and none of it costs you anything.
Handling beyond what is needed to establish the nature and functioning of the goods is a different matter. A scratched panel, missing accessories or a damaged screen may lead to a proportionate deduction, which we will always itemise and explain.
Keep the original packaging during the cancellation period. It is not a condition of your right to cancel, but it is the best protection for the item in transit.
If something is faulty
This is separate from changing your mind, and it is not limited to 14 days. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Your rights if goods are faulty
- Within 30 days — you have the short-term right to reject the goods and get a full refund.
- After 30 days, up to six months — we get one opportunity to repair or replace the item. If that fails, you can claim a refund or a price reduction. During this period a fault is assumed to have been present at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
- After six months — the same remedies apply, but you may be asked to show the fault was present when the goods were delivered.
- A repair or replacement must be carried out free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.
These rights are in addition to any manufacturer warranty, and nothing on this page reduces them.
To use these rights, just contact us. We arrange the return at our cost and sort out the repair, replacement or refund.
How you get your money back
We refund everything you paid, including the standard outbound delivery charge, within 14 days of receiving the item back.
Refunds go back to the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise, and carry no fee. Depending on your bank, allow 2–5 working days for it to appear.
Where to send returns
CineFrance Ltd, 24-26 Regent Place, Birmingham, B1 3NJ, United Kingdom
Please wait for our confirmation before posting: it carries a returns reference, without which your parcel cannot be matched to your order.
Model cancellation form
Using this form is optional. You can copy it, fill it in and email it to us.
If we still cannot agree
Contact us first — almost everything is settled in one exchange. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to refer the dispute to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, and you retain the right to take the matter to court.
Before you raise a dispute with your bank
Please write to us. A chargeback takes weeks and ties up your money for the whole process, where a direct refund is handled within 14 days. We do not argue with a legitimate return.
